PhilWeb Corp approved for e-gaming services
After being provisionally reinstated by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) in August, PhilWeb Corp has reortedly been approved to become a service provider once again in the Philippines. The company was awarded a Provisional Certificate of Accreditation on Aug. 20, 2017, after its license expired in Aug. last year and the company was forced to shut down. Now, it appears that PhilWeb is moving closer to resuming operations, having been approved to operate e-Gaming parlors by the Philippine gaming regulator.
According to ggrasia.com, PhilWeb Corp received a letter from PAGCOR that will allow the company to offer services as a provider of electronic gaming systems. In the beginning, the services will be made available to the 16 gaming sites that are licensed by PAGCOR for electronic games. Before operations can begin, PAGCOR will still need to inspect and test the e-Gaming outlets.
PhilWeb is certainly ready to be back in business, after being forced to shut down on August 10, 2016. PAGCOR announced at the time that they would not renew licensing for the company, which was operating e-Gaming parlors in the region. PhilWeb was operating 286 outlets licensed by PAGCOR at the time of the shutdown.
